Let’s explore what’s new in the 2026 Kia lineup at Kia of Leesburg.

2026 Kia Lineup Highlights: What’s New for 2026?

Kia has fully embraced the “Opposites United” design philosophy in models like the Kia Sportage, Kia K5, and Kia Sorento. These updated models have a fresh and modern new style that is certain to turn heads. For 2026, you’ll see styling features like:

  • Star Map daytime running lights and new taillight designs
  • Athletic and bold front fascias
  • Updated exterior paint and wheel options
  • Aerodynamic enhancements for better fuel efficiency
  • New body styles

You’ll also see new technology to keep drivers and passengers safe, informed, and connected. The updated tech for 2026 includes:

  • Upgraded Lane-Keep Assist, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and Parking Assist features.
  • Larger, curved panoramic displays with digital gauge clusters and infotainment systems.
  • Wireless connectivity for less clutter around the dash.
  • Over-the-air updates are standard in most trim levels.
  • Next-gen voice commands, real-time navigation, and remote vehicle access for an elevated ownership experience.

Several Kia models received performance updates. You’ll find several new hybrid options, and the electrified models have new charging ports.

  • The Kia EV6 and EV9 have new charging ports for more public charging options.
  • The 2026 Sportage has better electrified options.

What’s New with the 2026 Kia Sportage?

For 2026, Kia gave the Sportage a refresh with a new front design and interior upgrades. To fit with the rest of the Kia lineup, the 2026 Sportage has the Star Map daytime running lights and a bold grille that matches the flagship Telluride.

The popular compact SUV also comes with a new steering wheel and a modern dash with a pair of 12.3-inch panoramic displays. The Sportage is available with a standard gas engine, a hybrid, and a plug-in hybrid. The standard powertrain includes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available.

The Sportage Hybrid and PHEV have a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder paired with electric motors. Kia upgraded the Sportage PHEV model with a 72-kW electric motor and a 13.8-kWh battery for an EPA-estimated all-electric range of up to 34 miles and a peppy 268 horsepower.

On the inside, the Sportage has a new flat-bottomed steering wheel, which adds to its upgraded aesthetic. The attractive piano-black bezel on the console includes a rotary shifter, a push-to-start button, and other useful controls.

How Has the 2026 Kia EV9 Changed?

Another SUV with significant changes for 2026 is the Kia EV9. The first mass-produced three-row all-electric SUV gained a new NACS charging port. This new feature gives drivers the option to use the Tesla Supercharger network with over 2,000 public charging stations. Kia EV9 drivers can still charge at CCS stations, thus reducing range anxiety on long road trips.

What’s New with the 2026 Kia K4?

In 2025, Kia introduced the Kia K4 sedan as a larger replacement for the popular compact Kia Forte. The K4 has class-leading interior space, especially in the rear seat. It also has a remarkably affordable sticker price despite luxury-grade equipment.

For 2026, Kia has added a hatchback version of the K4. It comes with the same equipment and interior space, but the cargo area has expanded greatly. With the rear seats upright, the Kia K4 Hatchback has 22 cubic feet of cargo space, and with the rear seats lowered, the cargo space increases to 59 cubic feet. For comparison purposes, the K4 Sedan has 15 cubic feet of trunk space.

Will the Kia Soul Return for 2026?

The quick answer is no. The final Kia Soul rolled off the assembly line in October 2025. The quirky subcompact crossover gained popularity thanks to several catchy advertising campaigns that included a cast of hamsters with a deep love of popular music.

Drivers looking for a subcompact Kia should check out the 2026 Kia Seltos. It’s a good-looking vehicle with a surprisingly roomy interior. It’s available with two powertrains, including a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 190 horsepower. It comes standard with front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive is available on all but two trim levels.
